Description

A simple skillet meal combining smoked sausage, potatoes, and onions cooked together.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 medium potatoes, cubed
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced smoked sausage to the skillet and cook until lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Remove sausage and set aside.
  3. Add cubed potatoes and chopped onion to the same skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until potatoes begin to soften, about 10-12 minutes.
  4. Stir in salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  5. Return the cooked sausage to the skillet. Continue cooking until potatoes are tender and fully cooked, about 5-7 more minutes.
  6. Serve hot directly from the skillet.

Notes

  • You can add other vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms with the onions.
  • For crispier potatoes, cover the skillet for the first 10 minutes of cooking the potatoes.
