Description

Simple, quick-to-make salmon pieces coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs salmon fillet, skin removed and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water (slurry)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
  • Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, and ginger.
  3. Place the salmon cubes in a medium bowl. Pour half of the honey garlic sauce over the salmon and toss gently to coat. Reserve the remaining sauce.
  4. Arrange the coated salmon pieces in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily.
  6. While the salmon bakes, pour the reserved sauce into a small saucepan. Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat.
  7. Whisk the cornstarch slurry into the simmering sauce. Cook, stirring constantly, for about 1 minute until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat.
  8. Remove the salmon from the oven. Drizzle the thickened glaze over the hot salmon bites.
  9. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can cook these bites in an air fryer at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes for crispier edges.
  • If you prefer a spicier flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce mixture.
  • Use low-sodium soy sauce if you are watching your salt intake.
