Description

A basic recipe for making a low-carb pizza crust using cauliflower.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups riced cauliflower, squeezed dry
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the dried riced cauliflower in a medium bowl.
  3. Add the beaten egg, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, oregano, salt, and pepper to the cauliflower. Mix until well combined.
  4. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking sheet. Press the mixture firmly into a 10-inch circle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Bake the crust for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the crust is firm.
  6. Remove the crust from the oven and add your desired toppings.
  7. Return the pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

  • Squeezing the moisture out of the riced cauliflower is the most important step for a crisp crust. Use a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth.
  • Do not overload the crust with wet toppings to prevent sogginess.
