Description
A baked pasta dish featuring large pasta shells filled with ground turkey, spinach, and ricotta cheese, topped with marinara sauce.

- 12 jumbo pasta shells
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
- 1 (15 ounce) container ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 24 ounces marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Cook the jumbo shells according to package directions until al dente. Drain them well and set aside.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground turkey and cook, breaking it up, until browned. Drain off any excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more. Remove from heat.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked turkey mixture, squeezed spinach, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Spread about 1 cup of marinara sauce over the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Carefully stuff each cooked shell with the turkey and cheese mixture. Arrange the filled shells in a single layer in the baking dish.
- Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbly and the cheese is melted and lightly browned.
Notes
- You can substitute ground chicken or lean ground beef for the ground turkey.
- For a smoother filling, mix the ingredients in a food processor until just combined.
