Description

A quick and easy pasta dish using canned tuna.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta (penne or rotini)
  • 1 (5 oz) can tuna in water, drained
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, celery, red onion, and lemon juice.
  3. Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Season the tuna mixture with salt and pepper to your preference.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the tuna mixture. Toss to coat evenly.
  6. Serve warm or cold.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use tuna packed in oil and drain lightly.
  • You can add 1/4 cup of frozen peas during the last minute of pasta cooking.
