Description

A simple dessert made by layering cake mix, fruit, and cream cheese, then baking.


Ingredients

  • 1 (15 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  • 1 (21 ounce) can strawberry pie filling
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, cubed
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Sprinkle half of the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. Spoon the strawberry pie filling over the cake mix layer. Do not stir.
  4. Distribute the cubed cream cheese evenly over the strawberry filling.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining dry cake mix over the cream cheese layer.
  6. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top layer of dry cake mix.
  7. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  8. Let the cake cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can serve this cake warm or at room temperature.
  • For a richer flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract to the melted butter before drizzling.
