Description
A recipe for making hot and spicy chicken wings suitable for parties.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs chicken wings, separated into flats and drumettes
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/2 cup hot sauce
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, and pepper. Toss the wings in the flour mixture until lightly coated.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully fry the wings in batches for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on a wire rack.
- While the wings cook, prepare the sauce: Combine the hot sauce, melted butter, vinegar, and garlic powder in a small saucepan. Heat gently until the butter is fully melted and the sauce is combined. Do not boil.
- Place the cooked wings in a large bowl. Pour the sauce over the wings and toss until they are evenly coated.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For crispier wings, bake them at 400°F (200°C) for 40 minutes, turning halfway, instead of frying.
- Adjust the amount of hot sauce to control the heat level.
