Description
Savory meatballs glazed with Korean BBQ sauce and served with a creamy, spicy mayonnaise dip.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground pork or beef
- 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup Korean BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- For the Dip: 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon sriracha or chili garlic sauce
- 1 teaspoon lime juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, panko breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, grated ginger, milk, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined; do not overmix.
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake the meatballs for 15 to 18 minutes, or until cooked through.
- While the meatballs bake, prepare the glaze by whisking together the Korean BBQ sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the sauce simmers lightly. Remove from heat.
- In a separate small bowl, mix the mayonnaise, sriracha, and lime juice for the dip.
- Once the meatballs are cooked, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the warm glaze over the meatballs and toss gently to coat them evenly.
- Serve the glazed meatballs immediately with the spicy mayo dip on the side.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey for pork or beef.
- For extra flavor, you can broil the meatballs for the last minute after glazing to caramelize the sauce slightly.
- Garnish the meatballs with toasted sesame seeds or chopped green onions before serving.
