Description
Simple recipe for turkey meatballs coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Roll the mixture into small, uniform balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake the meatballs for 15 to 18 minutes, or until cooked through.
- While the meatballs bake, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and ginger.
- Heat the sauce over medium heat until it simmers and thickens slightly, about 3 to 4 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Once the meatballs are cooked, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the meatballs and toss gently to coat evenly.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- You can use panko breadcrumbs for a slightly crispier texture.
- For extra flavor, add 1/4 teaspoon of onion powder to the meatball mixture.
- If the sauce is too thick, add a teaspoon of water to thin it slightly.
