Description
A simple baked casserole made with ground beef, rice, and a creamy sauce.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of celery soup
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess fat.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked ground beef, uncooked rice, cream of mushroom soup, cream of celery soup, water, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.
- Bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
- Return the dish to the oven, uncovered, and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the rice is tender.
- Let the casserole stand for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, you can substitute one can of cream of mushroom soup with cream of chicken soup.
- If you prefer a less dense texture, add 1/2 cup of frozen peas or diced carrots with the rice mixture.
