A basic recipe for preparing fresh watermelon slices.

- 1 whole ripe watermelon
Instructions
- Wash the outside of the watermelon thoroughly.
- Place the watermelon on a stable cutting board.
- Cut the watermelon in half from top to bottom.
- Place one half cut-side down.
- Cut the half into thick slices, about 1 inch thick.
- Cut the rind off each slice.
- Cut the remaining flesh into triangular or rectangular pieces.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Chill the watermelon for at least 2 hours before cutting for best flavor.
- Use a large, sharp knife for easier cutting.
