Description

A quick and easy method for cooking enoki mushrooms to bring out their delicate flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (7 oz) enoki mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Clean the enoki mushrooms by trimming off the root base. Separate the clusters.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Do not brown the garlic.
  4. Add the enoki mushrooms to the skillet. Sauté for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they soften slightly.
  5. Stir in the salt, pepper, and soy sauce. Cook for 1 more minute.
  6. Remove from heat and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute butter for olive oil for a richer taste.
  • Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice after cooking for brightness.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic.
