Description
A simple, one-pan meal combining ground beef, macaroni, and cheese sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 4 cups beef broth
- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion softens, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes (with liquid), beef broth, macaroni, salt, and pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the macaroni is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Remove the skillet from the heat. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and milk until the cheese melts and the sauce is creamy.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or ground chicken for the beef.
- Add a dash of Worcestershire sauce with the broth for deeper flavor.
