A simple recipe for flavorful black pepper chicken.
Ingredients

- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon coarse black pepper
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the chicken pieces with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
- Heat the cooking oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the marinated chicken to the wok. Stir-fry until the chicken is cooked through and lightly browned.
- Add the ground black pepper and coarse black pepper. Stir well to coat the chicken.
- In a small bowl, mix the oyster sauce, water, and sugar. Pour this mixture over the chicken.
- Stir constantly until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the chicken evenly.
- Remove from heat and serve immediately.
Notes
- You can substitute chicken thighs for chicken breast.
- Adjust the amount of black pepper to your taste preference.
- Serve this dish over steamed rice.
