Description

A fast recipe for cooking shrimp and white fish with vegetables in a savory sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb white fish fillets (like cod or tilapia), cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/2 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp cold water (slurry)

Instructions

  1. Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil in a small bowl. Set aside.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add garlic and ginger; cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add broccoli and bell pepper; stir-fry for 3 minutes until slightly tender.
  5. Add fish pieces and shrimp to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring gently, until the fish starts to flake and shrimp turn pink.
  6. Pour the reserved sauce mixture over the seafood and vegetables. Stir to coat.
  7. Stir the cornstarch slurry again and pour it into the skillet. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 1 minute.
  8. Remove from heat and serve immediately.
